Empowering Matthew
During the pandemic, Matthew struggled with the changes the lockdown imposed. Matthew found not being able to attend his various social clubs especially difficult. It was during the first lockdown that the way support for Matthew was changed. This gave Matthew an opportunity to be involved in the recruitment process, enabling him to choose his own staff.
Matthew has built strong bonds with all his staffing team, this has empowered Matthew to develop his communication skills, both verbally and through the use of PECs.
Earlier this month Matthew moved into his new home and is settling in well to his new surroundings. Matthew, with the support of his Mum and his staff, will be transforming his spare bedroom into a sensory room filled with all of Matthew’s favourite things, which he can’t wait to get started on!
